Fox Removal & Exclusion
Their predatory behavior is generally at its worst during the spring when they are raising young but can happen anytime. And when they are not hunting (which typically occurs at dusk and dawn), they damage our property with their burrowing and nesting habits. They have excellent vision and hearing and a keen sense of smell. The Gray fox can even climb trees (and fences) with incredible cat-like agility. These factors combine to make these canines very formidable predators. Indeed, they are a nuisance animal we don’t want anywhere near our homes, farms, or businesses.
The Foxes Of Missouri
The two most common species found in Missouri are the Red, and the Gray. The Red is the larger of the two, weighing up to 15 pounds and growing up to three feet long, not including the tail. The Gray is smaller than the Red, typically not exceeding 12 pounds. They are not that difficult to tell apart based on their size and coloring; however, Grays also have some red on the underside of their mostly gray coat, which can be a little confusing. The easiest way to tell the Red and the Gray apart is by the tips of their tails; the Red’s is white, and the Gray’s is black. Interestingly, the Red is the most common in the world.
